New Dragon’s Dogma Online Trailer

Capcom have revealed a new trailer for Dragon’s Dogma Online, due out this year on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. The trailer is in Japanese, but it gives a good look at the gameplay on display.

The game will be free-to-play, so it will most likely feature microtransactions. Players will be able to form parties of four, with the remaining three companions being made up of either other players or NPC pawns much like the first title. Each lobby will support 100 players and you will be able to group up here before you go out questing. There will also be 8 player raids available.

A representative of Capcom UK stated that there were no plans to release the title in the west. No plans isn’t necessarily a definitive no for the title, so I would imagine that Capcom are only focusing on getting the game up and running for the Japanese audience first. The initial game sold very well on consoles and had a better than expect debut for a major new IP. Fans have also been clamoring for a sequel since the expanded version Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen was released.

The game will be available in Japan sometime this year, hopefully a western localization is announced at E3.
