God of War III Remastered Coming To PS4
God of War III will be coming to the PlayStation 4 this July, remastered in full 1080P and targeting 60fps. Sony Santa Monica revealed this on the PlayStation blog in a post celebrating the 10th anniversary of the God of War franchise. This version of the title will also include a photo mode that many first party Sony titles have been implementing as of late.
It is surprising that the the following release in the series, God of War Ascension, is not included with God of War III. Ascension was released at the tail end of the PlayStation 3 life cycle and it did not sell as well God of War III. If Ascension was included it would have added value to the release as players would be getting two titles for the price of one. This would be in a similar fashion to remasters on the previous generation, titles were generally bundled together to add value to the player.
The announcement of this remaster also opens the door to further releases of PS3 titles. A PS4 release of Beyond Two Souls has been rumoured for sometime, this announcement just adds further fuel to that fire.
God of War III remastered will come to PlayStation 4 July 17th in Ireland and UK, and July 20th in Europe.
