Mega Man Legacy Collection Announced
Mega Man Legacy Collection has been revealed in a new trailer by Capcom. The Collection is a celebration of Mega Man and will feature faithful reproductions of the first six Mega Man titles. The intent is to remind older fans and introduce newcomers to the gameplay that made Mega Man so popular. The game will be 8-bit style with a HD flair.
This could be seen as a reactionary measure by Capcom in light of Mighty No. 9 releasing later this year. They want to show people the original Mega Man before Mighty No. 9 releases in September. Although, if sales of this new release lead to the production of a new Mega Man title, then I can’t imagine anyone would be against it.
In addition to the first six Mega Man titles, the Mega Man Legacy Collection features new ways to experience the classic games. There will be two new modes, Museum Mode and Challenge Mode. Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer yet serving as a good starting point for new players. Museum Mode contains a comprehensive collection of history, high-res art and original concept pieces. These new additions are sure to pique the interest of older fans of the franchise.
The Mega Man Legacy collection will be available for digital download this Summer on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, and this Winter on the 3DS. The title will be priced at €14.99/£11.99.
