Watch The Stunning Dark Souls III Opening Cinematic

From Software have released the stunning opening cinematic for Dark Souls III. The Dark Souls cinematic’s have always been impressive and this one is no exception. It gives us a great look at the grim, bleak world the game inhabits. Many new characters are shown in the opening. Characters such as Yhorm the Giant, Aldrich Saint of the Deep, Farron’s Undead Legion and more await you in Lothric.. Series mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki has hinted that this game will be the closing chapter of the franchise. This gives us high expectations, especially coming after the stellar Bloodborne.

As was the case with Dark Souls I and II, it’s unclear exactly how this release ties into the series as a whole. The Firelink Shine returns as a location in this installment. However, from what we’ve seen, it bears very little resemblance to how it looked in the original release. It’ll be interesting to discover where this game exists in the overall lore of the franchise. While the names of the places differ in each installment. The world remains the same.

Dark Souls III will be launching on the 12th of April for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. All of us here at Ranting About Games are looking forward to Dark Souls III. The Souls games rarely disappoint and provide a breath of fresh air from the other AAA releases.
