Rumour: Forza 6 and Gears of War 4 Coming To Windows 10

With last week’s reveal that Quantum Break was coming to Windows 10, rumours have been swirling that this wouldn’t be the only big Windows 10 release from Microsoft. WPDang have reported that Forza 6 and Gears of War 4 will be coming as Windows 10 exclusives. They state that it’s part of Microsoft’s latest strategy to strengthen their Windows gaming platform. The site also reports that Scalebound and the unannounced Forza Horizon 3 will both be coming to Windows 10, in addition to Xbox One.

Provided this turns out to be true and Microsoft keep up the cross buy incentive across these titles it would be a major bonus for Windows 10 and Xbox One users. One can’t help but wonder if this new outlook is due to the PlayStation 4 outselling the Xbox by such a large margin. Releasing these games on PC is a great incentive to get gamers to upgrade to Windows 10. On the other side of this, it does give you less incentive to purchase an Xbox One. If you can conceivably get all the major games by owning a PS4 and Windows 10 PC, then there’s no need for an Xbox One. At the same time, it is unlikely that a lot of PC gamers would purchase an Xbox One for such a small amount of exclusives, so this way Microsoft get a lot more sales and can make some extra money.

Either way you look at it, this is good for gamers overall. A game being made available to more gamers is always a good thing. While I am of the belief that exclusives are good for a system, a multi-platform release benefits everyone. Hopefully these rumours turn out to be accurate. WPDang has a good track record for Microsoft related info and coming off the Quantum Break news, it does make a lot of sense. Any developments on the matter and we will let you know!
