Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection Announced

What was leaked earlier this morning, has now been confirmed. Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection will be coming to the PlayStation 4 this October 9th in Ireland and the UK (October 7th in the EU). The three PlayStation 3 Uncharted titles will be fully remastered in 1080p 60fps for the PS4. Port wizards extraordinaire, Bluepoint Games will be handling the porting duties. They have previously handled the 360 port for Titanfall and the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus remaster for PS3, among others.

In addition to the framerate improvements, the collection will boast improved lighting, better textures and models. Bluepoint are also working on other improvements and additions across all three games. These additions have been compiled by Sony based on a massive amount of fan feedback, so it will be interesting to see what they turn out to be. The collection will also include access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta.

Sony have noted, on the PS Blog, that this is a collection the fans were clamoring for. This is an answer to fans who made numerous requests on Twitter, Facebook, and many online message boards. While a collection such as this is warranted, as The Uncharted games are a staple of the Sony platforms, and have only sold 21 Million units across the franchise. This release may cause series fatigue so close to the launch of the fourth installment. In addition, the collection may draw a lot of criticism as it is another remaster in a console generation that has already seen so many.

Pre-ordering the title now will grant you access to the Nathan Drake Pack which will include single player skins as well as the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS guns. Pre-ordering the digital version via the PSN will give you an Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection dynamic theme. Expect more information in the coming weeks.
