Fallout 4 Gets Release Date
Fallout 4 will be coming out November 10th 2015. Todd Howard, of Bethesda Softworks, just confirmed the news at the Bethesda E3 2015 press conference. The game has been in development for over four years, since completion of Fallout 3 and they don’t want players to have to wait any longer.
In a series first, you will play a small portion of the game before the nukes hit. This looks to serve as a tutorial section, and to facilitate the character creator. It’s more interactive this time around, using the same methods the developers use to craft NPC’s. You will be able to play as a male or female character. The main game will take place 200 years after the bombs go off, after your character awakens, the soul survivor of your vault.
The game will contain settlement building options. You can create an outpost to your personal specifications. You will have to fortify it and place defenses to prevent invasions from raiders. The crafting mechanics in this title sound fairly robust, everything in the world is useful and you can scavenge parts from just about anything. There will be 50 base weapons, and you will have access to over 700 modifications for these weapons. The power armour in the game will also be fully customizable.
The P.I.P. Boy has been completely redone, their reasoning is that players will spend some much time looking at it, it should be interesting. All of the screens now feature small animations and you will be able to play basic games inside it. We saw a Donkey Kong clone among others. In addition to the P.I.P. Boy being revamped in game there will be a companion app available for you mobile device. This app allows you to access your in game menu via your device, saving you having to do it on screen. There will also be a life sized P.I.P. Boy available with the collector’s edition of the game. There will be room to place your phone inside it so you can use it just like a real P.I.P. Boy.
The game will be coming to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and PC this November. A Fallout spin off game was also announced. Fallout Shelter, a shelter building app, based in the Fallout universe is available now for free on iOS devices.
