Resident Evil 2 Remake Is In Development

Capcom have finally confirmed that a Resident Evil 2 Remake is now in development. In the above video Yoshiaki Hirabyashi a.k.a. H, from R&D Division 1 mentioned that thanks to fan support, the title is now in development. He commented:

“It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved. The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans’ passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want.”

The specifics of this release are unknown at this time, however it can be assumed it will be releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Hirabyashi was also the producer of the re-release of the Resident Evil Remake that released earlier this year. It’s expected that this remake will be in the same vein as that one, maintaining the feel and gameplay of the original while updating the look. We most likely won’t be seeing it in action until at least 2016 considering that development has just begun. Resident Evil 2 is one of the most critically acclaimed titles in the franchise so it’ll be exciting to see how they handle this.
