New Assassin’s Creed Teaser Trailer

Ubisoft have released a teaser trailer indicating that this years installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise will be revealed on May 12th. Late last year Kotaku had a large article revealing several key details about the title. They revealed it would be set in London during the Victorian Era, and be called Assassin’s Creed Victory. The piece included a number of screenshots showing off new gameplay features and the general art direction for the game. The author of the piece has now revealed that the game will be titled Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, ahead of its reveal next week.

Ubisoft themselves released a statement confirming that the leaked assets and details that Kotaku reproduced were in fact legitimate. They have remained tight lipped about the title until now. On the Assassin’s Creed website currently there is a a teaser video, the one that’s included above. However the MP4 file on the site has a unique file name. It reads “ACVI_JacobsHands_AnimLoop_HD_720p_15Mo.mp4”. This would seem to imply that the main character in this installment is named Jacob, and if numbered this would be Assassin’s Creed VI.

We will have more information on May 12th as it develops. Personally I preferred the title Victory to Syndicate, I felt it suited the title more. Syndicate doesn’t really suit the franchise. It’s also amusing to note that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be the third big budget Victorian Era title released this year. Bloodborne and The Order being the other two. 2015 is certainly looking to be the year of the Victorian Era game.
