Quantum Break Is Coming To PC

Microsoft and Remedy Entertainment have confirmed that the Xbox One (console) exclusive title, Quantum Break, will also release on PC. The Windows 10 PC version will launch on the same day as the Xbox One release. This news doesn’t come as much of a shock. Remedy’s previous title Alan Wake was released on the Xbox 360 and PC.

This news does raise another question though. Will Microsoft be bringing their other exclusive titles to Windows 10? So far they have been quite coy as to what games will release on both platforms. Fable Legends, Gears of War Remastered and Killer Instinct are all coming, but there is no word on whether the Halo or Forza franchises will. Sony do not see the PC as a competitor and have no problems with a some of their lower profile titles appearing on PC. Microsoft following suit is great for PC gamers. The prevalence of cross platform multiplayer is once of the greatest things to come from this console generation. If people are playing the same game and the PC version has no unfair advantages such as keyboard and mouse in FPS titles. It absolutely makes sense to widen the available player pool. Hopefully this becomes the norm.

Microsoft have also revealed that all copies of Quantum Break will net you a free digital copy of Alan Wake and it’s two DLC’s, playable on Xbox One. They also announced they will be selling the game in a bundle with a white 500GB Xbox One console. which you can view at below. Players who purchase the game on Xbox Live will also be able to download the game on Windows 10 at no additional charge. It’s good to see Microsoft choosing to do this, it builds a good amount of trust from a consumer. Remedy posted the following list of details pertaining to the game’s release:

  • Every Xbox One copy of Quantum Break will come with a full-game download for Alan Wake for Xbox 360, plus its two add-on packs, The Signal and The Writer, playable on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility.
  • Every Xbox One Quantum Break pre-order made through the Xbox Store or participating retailers will get you a download code for the Windows 10 version of Quantum Break and Xbox One backwards compatible version of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.
  • You can also get Quantum Break branded SteelBook cover for your copy of the game by pre-ordering Quantum Break from participating retailers.
  • A new Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break Bundle featuring a 500GB Cirrus White console and matching wireless controller, a full-game downloads of Quantum Break for both Xbox One and Windows 10, and a full-game download of Alan Wake accompanied by The Signal and The Writer add-on packs is offered worldwide starting March 29th, 2016 in most regions where Xbox One is available.
